Vibrantly colorful redwood sculpture depicting an exalted abstract human figure with raised arms and torso arching backward. The gesturing figure resembles an exuberant dancer projecting body synchronicity from enjoyment of the festive rhythms. This dramatic contemporary sculpture has been created predominately with materials derived from an ancient redwood stump. The individual components of this design have been carved with chain saws to create the angular forms. Each geometric component is carefully sanded and polished prior to final assembly with steel bars. Finally, the sculpture is sprayed with a high quality clear oil finish which enhances the vibrant colors and redwood burl grain patterns. Each redwood sculpture is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated due to the inherent characteristics of the natural wood. Please also know that no living trees have been utilized in the creation of these works.
All sculptures are signed and numbered by Daryl Stokes and include an artist certificate of authenticity.
