Spectacular series of rustic Redwood Burl and Driftwood Indoor/Outdoor Floor Fountains with hand made Copper Cups and Reservoirs created by artist Daryl Stokes.
Due to the nature of redwood burls, each floor fountain is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated. Although it is possible to create similar designs, each fountain is unique. All of the natural redwood used to create these sculptures has been reclaimed from the underground portions of fallen trees which have been victimized from winter storms, landslides or forest fires, therefor no living trees have been utilized.
Completely self contained re-circulating waterfall system. No Plumbing necessary. Simply fill the reservoir with water, plug the water pump into a standard electric outlet-now stand back and enjoy the surging waterfall actions and sounds!

Daryl Stokes has been creating redwood furniture, sculptures, and indoor/outdoor fountains for the past 30 years on Cannery Row and currently at his residential work shop. These are some examples of indoor/outdoor redwood fountains, created by Daryl. All of them are made from underground redwood root and burl driftwood pieces and are one of a kind. The raw driftwood and burl pieces are carved with chain saws to enhance the forms. The fountain designs are fashioned by joining the wood forms together with steel bars. Later they are further shaped with grinders and finally sandblasted. The copper cups and reservoirs are initially hand-formed, then pressed, and the spouts pounded out with mallets. Daryl uses heavy gauge roofing copper for extreme durability. The redwood fountains average 5' to 7' tall, 3' to 4' wide, and 3' to 3 1/2' deep. It is possible to order similar pieces to the ones shown above or custom sizes.
The majority of the redwood burl used in these sculptures is derived from the underground stumps and root areas of ancient redwoods which have fallen victim to severe winter storm actions, landslides and forest fires. Many were washed down rivers and swept out to sea to eventually return to the beaches as scoured driftwood. The timeless beauty of these majestic giants live on in Stokes's artistic creations.
